Getchell Gold Corp.
Getchell Gold Corp. (CSE: GTCH) (OTCQB: GGLDF) is a Nevada focused gold and copper exploration company trading on the (CSE: GTCH) and (OTCQB: GGLDF). Getchell Gold is primarily directing its efforts on its most advanced stage asset, Fondaway Canyon, a past gold producer with a significant in-the-ground historic resource estimate. Complementing Getchell’s asset portfolio is Dixie Comstock, a past gold producer with a historic resource and two earlier stage exploration projects, Star (Cu-Au-Ag) and Hot Springs Peak (Au). Getchell has the option to acquire 100% of the Fondaway Canyon and Dixie Comstock properties, Churchill County, Nevada.
PROJECTS
Fondaway Canyon
Fondaway Canyon is an advanced stage gold property located in the Churchill County, Nevada. The land package contains 170 unpatented lode claims. The property has a history of previous surface exploration and mining in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Getchell Gold Corp. (Getchell) signed the Definitive Option Agreement with Canarc Resource Corp. on January 3, 2020 to acquire 100% of the Fondaway Canyon and Dixie Comstock properties.
Fondaway Canyon Technical Report published Feb 1, 2023
Star Project
The Star Project comprises two main mineralized occurrences, the formerly producing Star Point copper mine and the Star South Cu-Au-Ag prospect situated 2 kilometres to the south. Star consists of 199 lode mining claims located in Pershing County Nevada approximate 65 kilometers southwest of Winnemucca, Nevada on the east side of the Buena Vista Valley. The project area contains three identified targets defined by mapping, sampling and geophysical surveys including; ground gravity, airborne magnetic, airborne radiometric and ground Induced Polarization (IP) / Resistivity.
GTCH initiated the maiden drill program for the Star Project in early June, 2022. Three drill pads have been completed, one at Star Point and two at Star South, and the Company is excited to drill the first holes ever under the high grade surface mineralization.
Dixie Comstock
Dixie Comstock, located in Churchill County, Nevada, consists of 26 unpatented lode claims. It also has evidence of some historic mining but no records of production are available.
A historic* 1991 geologic and mining study completed by Mine Development Associates of Reno, Nevada, in March 1991 estimated a geologic resource containing 146,000 ounces of gold in 4.26 million tonnes grading 1.063 g/t Au at a cut-off grade of 0.34 g/t Au.
*The historic geologic resource estimate is contained within a report dated March 1991 commissioned by Horizon Gold Corporation. The resource estimate was compiled only from drill holes (179 holes totaling 19,679 m), a sufficient amount to deem the historic resource as reliable. The kriged block model was constructed based on a N45E major axis direction with a 30 degree dip and clipped using three separate mineralized zones (high grade, low grade and hot springs mineralization) with a minimum 0.01 opt (0.34 g/t) Au cut-off. No capping or cutting of grades was applied. The tonnage and grade estimate stated herein is ‘historic’ as defined by NI43-101 and did not use resource classifications in accordance with NI 43-101 standards, instead a single indivisible resource category was defined, a ‘Geologic Resource’ A qualified person for Getchell has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimates as current mineral resources and the Company is not treating these historical mineral estimates as a current estimate for mineral resources. Additional work will need to be undertaken to verify the historic estimates and classify them as current resources.
Hot Springs Peak
Hot Springs Peak – The project area consists of 167 claims covering the targeted discovery area and a buffer zone located in Humboldt County Nevada approximately 55 kilometers northeast of Winnemucca Nevada. A NI 43-101 Technical Report was completed in June 2017. Field work identified the potential for a large “Carlin Style” alteration system based on the 1.5 km long hornfels altered trend at the surface, widespread arsenic mineralization, and the 0.701 opt gold (24 g/t) sample that was collected from aggregate sampling from historic shaft dumps that exploited the near surface high grade gold.
Geophysics revealed a magnetic low underlying the hornfels alteration area and chargeability high coincident with magnetic low and hornfels alteration. There is also a resistivity high crosscutting the magnetic low, hornfels alteration and extending below the chargeability high.
Six holes were drilled in two drill campaigns consisting of 5 reverse circulation holes and one deep core hole.
HSP-RC5 intersected a 26 meter gold-arsenic zone averaging 0.133 g/t Au that included 1.5 meters of 0.69 g/t Au. A second gold-anomalous zone contains arsenic values ranging from 486 ppm to greater than 10,000 ppm with the entire 274 meter drill section averaging 377 ppm arsenic.
The 26 meter gold-arsenic anomalous zone intersected by hole HSP-RC5 is considered to be a localized mineralized cap sourced from deeper, untested Carlin-style gold mineralization. Target areas are located southwest of, and beneath, the HSP-RC5 anomalous zone where a resistivity high may represent favourable limestone host rocks under the gravel cover.
